StepTrek 2024 FAQ

What is StepTrek?

It is a family-friendly noncompetitive walk through the South Side Slopes neighborhood. It is a self guided tour using maps and narratives. There are a series of streets, sidewalks and public stairways to walk.

What is the cost?

The 2024 event is pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $10 per person. Children 16 and under are free.

Can I register on the day of StepTrek?

Yes. In-person registration is from 10am-2pm on Saturday, Oct 5 at S 28th & Sidney Streets (in the SouthSide Works).

Can I volunteer to help?

Yes, we love our volunteers! If you volunteer, you get a free t-shirt, and you can walk the routes before or after your shift. Sign up here.

How do I access the maps?

A link to download the digital maps and route narratives will be sent on October 4 (by 10pm).   The digital maps and route narratives allow you to walk the routes during the event on October 5, or anytime after that day.
In-person check-in, where you can pick up a hard-copy map and pre-ordered event merch, will begin at 10am on Oct 5 at S 28th & Sidney Streets (in the SouthSide Works).

How do I pick-up the t-shirt I purchased?

Shirts ordered before Sept 22 will be available for pick-up during the event (10am-2pm) on Oct 5 at S 28th & Sidney Streets (in the SouthSide Works).  Shirts not picked up between 10am-2pm on Oct 5 will incur a $10 shipping fee.

Shirts ordered after Sept 22 will be shipped in late October.

Shirts do not include event tickets; if you are planning to attend the event, please also complete an event registration.
